"In all our homeschooling efforts, let us not forget our children's hearts. Let us tie many heart-strings -- the more the better -- through daily interaction, creating special memories, binding our children to us through love and caring. And let us not forget to guide their hearts toward the Lord, to set their hearts and minds on things above.
The academics are important, but the heart-set is even more so. That's why I like to say that we are "HeartSchooling" -- it puts my focus back where it ought to be and helps me keep my priorities straight.
Keep loving on your little people!"

I have been baking most of our family's bread for over twenty years. The satisfaction I receive each t ime a fragrant and beautiful loaf of bread comes out of the oven never ends. But there are many other better reasons to bake your own bread, read on: Read More |

Squint your eyes just a little. Can you see the possibilities for major revival if Christian women would stop thinking in terms of “self-fulfillment” and started thinking in terms of radically ruling from their homes as they rear armies of children raised to the glory of God and for the building of His kingdom? I can feel some shudder as they read my military lingo, others as they stumble over my criticism of self-fulfillment. But God uses such analogies in His Word, and so will I. Read More |

One of the reasons—certainly not the only reason—that people elect to have so few children today is selfishness. The potential parents are simply unwilling to share their time and lives with children. This is not just in the mothers. There are many men who reprehensibly deny their wives children because of their own selfishness. Surely, if children are allowed to run wild, many of the benefits can be lost, but children do not behave in this way if they are raised unselfishly in a good home. Read More |

The Eyes That Are Upon Me |

She’s watching me, and the stakes are high.
I can speak holiness, but can I live it?
I can claim a change in heart, but can I choose to put it into action throughout the day?
I’m pressed, mauled, exhausted, drained…put through the masher.
The demands are huge, threatening to take me under.
But her eyes are upon me, observing either my short temper that seems justified by pressure and lack of sleep, or my firm resolve to speak in a quiet voice and touch with love. Read More |

My name is Carmon Friedrich...and I'm a babyholic
It started with just one little baby. I thought I could handle it. Then that wasn't enough anymore, so I had another, then another, and things just spiraled out of control.
To help others with this addiction, I've decided to start the first North American chapter of Babyholics Anonymous. Here is an outline of our 12-Step Program:
1. First admit that you are a babyholic...you can't live without the smell of those little downy heads and the feeling you get when gazing at those perfectly-formed, tiny toes. Read More |

I get the impression that when I speak of the home-centered calling of a woman that the sparks fly because it is perceived that I’m consigning women to an unstimulating, stultifying existence and keeping them from the real world of challenges and excitement. I’ve barely begun to explore the possibilities that exist for ministry, business, and education, as well as improving domestic skills, within the home, but I hope I’ve sparked some ideas this time, rather than angry sparks.
